  1. Tell me about your professional training and teaching background, emphasizing things specifically that you feel have prepared you for the job you are seeking.

  2. Why did you choose to be a music teacher?

  3. How do you feel about the "extra duties" that often are associated with being a band instructor? ( Pep Band, Memorial Day Services, Veteran’s Day, Commencement, etc.)
    4.What are your strengths as a teacher? What are your weaknesses?
  1. What is your opinion of the role of the computer in the classroom and to what extent do you plan to use it?
  2. How do you plan to get students to participate in lessons?

  3. After school starts, how long would it take to get a schedule of lessons posted on your door and to the building principal?

  5. What guidance curriculums (like Character Counts) are you familiar with and which have you use
  6. What training do you have in the use of computers?

  7. What agencies are available to parents or children who have problems that you as the school counselor cannot deal with effectively?

  8. In a counseling session a student reveals information that you feel would jeopardize someone’s safety. What would you do?

  9. If a student is a constant discipline problem and is referred to you for counseling, what is your best technique for dealing with his or her behavior?

  10. When, if ever, is it appropriate for a counselor to break confidentiality and tell what he or she has heard during a counseling session?
