SPED TEACHER CASE LOAD  Posted 4/15/05

We cut a SPED teacher this spring. I am interested in the case load of SPED teachers around the state.

Thanks,

Joan, We are trying to make the case load to be 20 IEP's or less per SPED teacher. Dkom Canistota

Joan,
Our case loads are generally determined by the IEPs and the amount of time and needs of each, though we do not have a hard and fast rule of thumb.

We are revamping our SPED program due to the changes in the low. Currently we have quite a bit of pull out and want to move to more inclusion, something we should have been doing all along really. Do any of you run a successful inclusion program and how are you changing with the recent changes in the law and HQ for sped teachers?
